Other spelling: Murmuur, Murmux, Murmur, Murmus.

Murmur is described in the first part of the Lemegeton..

Murmur - before he turned into a fallen angel, Murmur was partly of the order of thrones and partly of the order of angels.  This "fact was proved after infinite research," reports Spence in An Encyclopaedia of Occultism, p. 119.  In Hell, Murmur is a great duke with 30 legions of infernal spirits attending him.  He manifests in the form of a warrior astride a gryphon, with a ducal crown upon his head.  He teaches philosophy and constrains the souls of the dead to appear before him for the answering of questions.  His sigil is shown in Waite, The Book of Black Magic and of Pacts, p. 182.  (a)

Three confederates held sway over the dead.  Murmur took charge of the soul, while Bifrons & Bune moved the bodies from one grave to another. (c)

Murmur's Sigil (S Aldarnay - Goetic Spellwork)

From Aldarnay's version & the Goetia, I have changes many words more adapted to the nature on the ritual itself. (spirit to demon and so on..)

Timing:

Make this ritual coincide with a dark moon, and preferably on a Saturday. The other obvious day to perform this would be All Hallows Eve, or Halloween. The planetary associations for this demon would dictate that they are best invoked on a Friday or Tuesday. Though traditionally, a Saturday would be more apt for works of Necromancy.

If you wish to work with the dead, the demon Murmur is a great ally to have. They are demon number 54 in Ars Goetia and they hold the rank of both Duke an Earl. One way of utilizing his power in spell craft is by creating a Necromantic Lamp bearing his sigil. To accomplish this, follow these instructions.

The Procedure:

Make or purchase an oil lamp and upon the front of this paint the sigil for Murmur in black or deep blue. Next, add to the oil weel of the lamp a pich of the following ingredients:

Yew wood or leaves (Taxus baccata)
Bone dust (Human bones are from the best efficiency)
Wormwood (1)
Balm of Gilead (2)
Drop of your blood
A few drops of Myrrh resinoid

(1) Artemisia absinthium (absinthium, absinthe wormwood, wormwood, common wormwood, green ginger or grand wormwood) is a species of wormwood, native to temperate regions of Eurasia and northern Africa.

(2) Balm of Gilead is a balm made from the resinous gum of the North American Balm of Gilead (Populus × jackii) tree  or from related species such as the balsam poplar (Populus balsamifera, which is also sometimes called Balm of Gilead).

Now fill the lamp woth the oil or fluid used in its lighting. Traditional clay lamps are usually filled with olive oil, whereas more moder lamps take a special lamp oil can be purchased from hardware stores.

Trace / Set up the Magic Cicle and Consecrate it properly;

The Magister should bears:

The Ring, The Pentragam, The Hexagram, The Secret Seal;

Keep the Wand, at reach hand..

To use the lamp, set up a temple of saturnine nature. On your altar set the triangle of manifestation and place the lamp at its centre. Burn an appropriate incese such as one comprised of myrrh, mastic and aloes. Light the lamp and make the following entreaty:
Here the Magister should recite the first Conjuration 'for to call forth any of the forsaid spirits' ("I Invocate and conure you spirit N. & being wth power armed from ye supreame Majesty"..)

If murmur do not manifests itself, then the Magister should use the Second Conjuration, the Constraint, the Curse, The Conjuration of Fire, the Curse..

When the Spirit will manifest himself, the Magister should recite the Adress unto the spirit upon his coming..

Then the Magister should recite the Welcome unto the spirit..

Finally the Magister should speaks to the spirit thus like this:

"Murmur, Mighty Spirit who controls the shades of the dead, I ask that thee bring to me the soul of one departed-as in your power. This flame is a beacon, I call them to it".

After a time you may fell a presence in the room with you, and notice the flame mving differently to how it was before. Once you are sure of the demon's presence, set up a way of communicating throught the flame-you may be surprised with the force of your results.
When your period of questioning is over, say the following, which is never to be omitted, lest a shades gets attached to your place of working.

"Murmur; again I call thee, return this shade to its rightful place,a s quickly as you bough it-and I will burn sweet incense for you".

Once you are sure that the demon has departed, make an offering to Murmur of frankincese, dragon's blood and rose petals.

Finally the Magister should not forget to perform the License to Depart..

Aaron C. Donahue recently evoked this spirit and found him to be no more than the skeletal remains of his former self. But the crown is still on his head, even though it is cock-eyed for lack of flesh and hair to hold it in place.

Murmur has neither wings nor arms. He stands behind something twisted and broken, looking out over a bright head stone for a grave. Donahue writes that Murmur "leans against a divided and broken wing." In death, then his wings have fallen to the ground. "Below a blank tombstone shines bright. The background is of the earth.

"The exorcists may command Murmur to bind the dead", Donahue explains: "One may write the name upon the stone thereby limiting the deceased by name. Once bound, the dead shall speak..." Even though he presents himself with a death mask, Murmur seems to still be on the job.
